Scarlett started Freerider after she felt uninspired searching for a gift for her pregnant cousin. She couldn't understand why no brands out there were combining prints and current trends into products for new parents.
With Freerider's sustainably sourced products, Scarlett wants to bring a little more choice, personality and individual style to motherhood.
Scarlett saw demand for Freerider’s maternity wear shoot up during the pandemic. However, no traditional lender would offer the capital she needed to secure more inventory due to limited financial records.
With orders piling in, she needed a fast alternative that allowed her to buy more stock.
Scarlett received $80k within 24 hours, and immediately ordered 3X more stock. She also doubled spend on Facebook and Instagram advertising to tap into growing demand for online maternity wear.
Four months later, Scarlett topped up her advance with another $40k as orders continued to grow...
Within a year, revenue had more than doubled, and demand still showed no sign of slowing down.
